I bought 4 spare lids for my bottles. 3 work and one is broken. I can't see anything wrong with it, but it hisses when I sip from it and I can hardly get water in my sip. I'm glad the others work fine. I would also suggest having the spout tilt out a bit farther that way there's room for your nose.
Hi Kj,
Thank you so much for your feedback, and we’re truly sorry to hear one of the lids is not working properly. The hissing sound and restricted water flow definitely indicate a faulty seal or airflow issue, which is not the experience we want for you.
We also wanted to mention that our bottles are intentionally designed so you shouldn’t need to tilt the bottle while drinking — the straw is designed to reach all the way to the bottom for an easy upright sip. 😊 Because of this design, tilting the bottle upward while drinking can cause the lid/spout area to come into contact with your nose.
That said, we truly appreciate the feedback regarding the spout angle as well, and we’ll absolutely pass this along to our product team for consideration in future improvements.
Most importantly, we would have loved the opportunity to make this right for you directly. Please feel free to reach out to us at info@mybougiebottle.com and we’d be more than happy to replace the faulty lid for you.
Mahalo again for your support of My Bougie Bottle— we truly appreciate it.

I dropped my bottle head first and broke the handle and lip piece. I ordered a new top, which came quickly, and it's like new again. Very pleased with my bottle, and I get a lot of compliments on it.

It seems like when my Bougie bottles get a few years old they don't hold ice anymore. Is this typical?
Hi Valerie,
Thanks so much for reaching out!
If a bottle has been dropped or placed in the dishwasher, it can compromise the vacuum insulation — which is what keeps your drinks cold for 24+ hours. This is often why older bottles may not keep temperature as effectively over time.
That said, it’s also completely normal for ice to melt in insulated bottles over time — even ones that are functioning perfectly. Our bottles use double-wall vacuum insulation to prevent heat transfer, which keeps the liquid ice cold, but doesn’t stop the ice itself from slowly melting. The key is that even after the ice is gone, the water stays refreshingly cold for hours — that’s the insulation doing its job!
We recommend always hand-washing your bottle and avoiding heavy impact to keep it performing at its best.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any other questions — we're always happy to help!
Warmly, MBB Customer Service
