The Story
Hokuloa is a 25 oz insulated water bottle inspired by the luminous color and extraordinary birdlife of Hawaiʻi. Scarlet anthuriums, emerald foliage and iridescent feather-like details form a lush botanical tapestry, with a hidden ʻiʻiwi waiting to be discovered among the leaves.
The name references Hōkūloa—the morning star, or Venus, seen at daybreak. Finished in brilliant high gloss, Hokuloa has the polished depth of a decorative ceramic piece and reveals new details with every turn. Wehewehe Hawaiian Language Dictionary
The ʻiʻiwi is an endemic Hawaiian honeycreeper currently listed as threatened under the U.S. Endangered Species Act, making its appearance within the artwork especially meaningful. U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service
The Collector’s Note
Hokuloa is in its final edition, with only a small number remaining. Once the current inventory is gone, this design will return to the My Bougie Bottle archive.
